James McMahon

AI strategy, training program design, client leadership.

James is the executive counterpart CFOs and operating leaders rely on for the strategy, financial case, and delivery of AI initiatives. He builds the budgeting and ROI cases that justify the investment, designs the capability-building programs that bring client teams up the curve, and keeps cross-functional initiatives moving in the same direction across finance, operations, and engineering.

He brings 25 years of senior leadership across corporate finance, M&A, technology, and startup operations. His career includes Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at CB&I, Manager of Corporate Strategy at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, VP of Finance at Prima Health, CFO at Spivey & Company, and co-founder and CFO roles at Kallaco, Qvive Health, and CaseSherpa. He has built and financed companies from the founder side and bought and sold them from the corporate side. Most finance executives do not get to do both. Before all of it, he served twelve years in the U.S. military with multiple overseas deployments.

He holds a BS in Management from the University of New Orleans and an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business.

James' military experience also drives his personal work. He founded a nonprofit to help veterans who want to start their own businesses get the financial and operational guidance most of them have never had access to. James and his wife, Erica, have two daughters and live in New Orleans.
